Any tips on how to stay mentally strong and motivated throughout a match?


  • I played my first "match" since December 2019 the other day. First time serving. First time playing points. I got down 2-0 in the first set because of some rust and double faults. Reminded myself that there was no real reason to lose this set. Gathered myself and won it 6-3.

    Bit of a let down in energy in the 2nd and again I was down 2-0. Just tried to remember that A) it doesn't matter. this is recreational tennis. B) be as loose as I am when I have just been rallying the last few months.

    I didn't do anything resembling a first serve. Just as much spin and margin as I could muster. Everything was a second serve. But I knew that was all I needed to do. I have to work my way back up to first serves.

    Won the 2nd set 7-5.
